What should we wear for our portrait shoot?
Plain colours are best for family portraits. You want your images to be timeless, so having obvious logos or patterns in the photographs can quickly date them. Conflicting colours can be very distracting too, so I suggest plain colours that compliment eachother well.
Having another outfit to change into is also a good idea, as they make your final selection of images more varied.
What time is best for children or babies to have their photograph taken?
The most important thing for babies and children is that they are well rested and fed. You know when your children are at their best - Early in the day is usually good for little ones.
What happens if my children misbehave during the shoot?
The more relaxed everyone is about the shoot, the smoother it will go. I am very patient when it comes to children, so if we need to wait a few moments to let a tantrum pass, that is no problem. My portrait shoots are all about having fun so there is always a way to bring a smile back to a child's face. I don't tell children to smile or say 'cheese', so you don't need to either. Sit back, relax and let me do the work!
How many photographs do you usually take at a wedding?
The amount of photographs usually depends on the size of your wedding and the coverage you go for. I can take anything between 800 images and 2500 images. You will see an edited selection of the best photographs from your day - This could be any number between 200 and 500 images, depending on the coverage you go for.
Can we get prints made?
Yes. If you would like to purchase the CD-ROM, there will be print-ready files on this disc. Simply go into any photo lab and you will be able to get prints made there. If you don't require the CD-ROM but would still like a few prints done, I can supply these in a variety of tones such as colour, black & white or sepia.
Do you travel for weddings?
I can travel anywhere to photograph a wedding. I have been all over Ireland and many places abroad too.
How can we book you for our wedding?
Please get in touch via my contact page if you would like to book me as your wedding photographer. I will meet with you both to discuss your wedding day in detail and go over any special requests that you may have. A €200 deposit is required to secure your wedding date and all dates are booked on a first come, first served basis.
Is there an extra charge if the wedding runs over?
There are no extra charges involved if your wedding runs over.
How soon after our wedding can we see the photographs?
Your photographs will be ready to view online in my password-protected gallery approximately 3 weeks after your wedding day.
Is it possible to get parent/bridesmaids albums made?
Yes. I offer smaller sized albums, which are lovely ideas for gifts.
Do you shoot in colour or black & white?
I shoot everything in colour, however, I can convert any image into black & white or sepia afterwards. Certain images work better in black and white rather than colour and vice versa.
When will my order be ready?
This depends on what products you go for. If you opt for a disc package, your order will be ready within 2 weeks. If you go for an album package, your order will be ready within 6 weeks.
What equipment do you use?
I use top of the range Canon digital cameras. I use a variety of lenses, which help me to get right up close for those detail scenes or far back for the large group scenes.
